----------------------------------------------------------------------
A 600 school, or umbrella school, is a Private School which has an
option available for students who do not attend any or all classes on site
at the school's facility; like those who take online classes.
Those who sign up under
an umbrella school option essentially become “blanketed” or
covered by the private school. When a student is covered by an
umbrella school, the school stands between the student and the
state in which the student resides. This is very important to those
who do not want to be held accountable to the state for their schooling
decisions. Instead, the student is held accountable to the private
school.
Our umbrella
school meets the requirements of the state of Florida in regards to
education. Families who are registered under the private/umbrella
school are required to meet school and state guidelines.
Unlike traditional schools, we are able to use
classes taken by any verifiable source on the student's report card and
transcript. That would include other programs and homeschool
classes taken
at the CAIA Learning Center plus those overseen
by a parent.
When you complete all
needed requirements, you will receive a real diploma and high school
transcript. Your diploma is a symbol of your achievement and your ticket
to success proving that you have graduated from an accredited school.
A diploma from an accredited school is
important to have when a student starts the college application
process with
certain colleges.
It also gives you the
more accepted credentials
you need to compete in today's job market.
Each student in the Private School option, grades
9th-12th, is assigned a personal academic advisor who works with
the student, the parents, and the Academic Office in an effort to help
students meet all school requir ements
and college expectations. All families enrolled in the Private
School option may contact the school's Academic Advisor with questions
regarding their child's education as needed.
