Greek Stories & PlayÂ
Come take a journey to the land of wars, eternal beauty, fate, free will, and honor.Â
This class, which is for MATURE juniors and seniors, will read the great, epic tales from Homer, Sophocles, Aeschylus, and more. This class, while taught from a Christian worldview, will discuss some topics that will require maturity and understanding that the world in which these Greek stories were written is quite different from the world we live in today.Â
Within the Greek plays, there may be graphic violence, objectification of women, affairs, and sexual innuendos.Â
This class will focus on deep analysis of the Greek works, practicing and perfecting literary analysis essays, and deep and enlightening discussion.Â
The majority of this class will be graded on participation and written assignments; however, pop quizzes and exams may be given at the teacher’s discretion. There will be midterm exams and final exams at the end of each semester.Â
**Participation is expected and absolutely required in class. This is NOT a lecture-based class.Â
