Think Tank 2 is a fun and engaging class, designed especially for advanced middle schoolers or high school students with dyslexia, or who generally struggle with reading and writing. While not a remedial class, Think Tank 2 provides a gentler approach for mastering the necessary language arts skills required for high school. Academic overview:

  • Two to three novels per semester

  • Weekly grammar & spelling lessons

  • Creative writing prompts

  • Academic writing assignments

  • Reading comprehension & critical thinking skills

Students will learn how to write several types of academic papers, including book reviews, author profiles, and research papers. Other writing projects include poetry reading, analysis, and writing; short stories (reading and writing); weekly creative writing prompts.

Student Requirements:

  • Advanced 7th grade - 12th grade

  • Ability to read and write independently

  • Respectful behavior and self-regulation

  • Access to laptop (in class) and Google Classrooms

Think Tank 2 is taught by Mrs. Kristy Howard, a seasoned homeschool educator with years of experience teaching (and parenting) dyslexic kids. Her goal for this class is to help students build skills and confidence, and draw out their natural creativity and curiosity.

Submit a registration inquiry below, and Mrs. Howard will contact you about an interview. All students must be approved before officially being enrolled in the Think Tank program.
