BEGINNER UKULELE
This group ukulele class is for absolute beginners to intermediate players. We'll learn the basics you need to know to get going on this popular instrument. We'll be playing a wide variety of songs from day one, from old favorites to modern hits. By the end of the class, you'll have the skills to learn songs on your own. Students that already have some experience will expand their skills and learn to play as a group. This is a joyful class where we learn by doing.
Students may bring their own ukulele or rent one at the bookstore for $25. A songbook will be provided. Students should have their own tuner or a ukulele tuner app on their phones.
No musical experience or music reading is required. Ukulele tab reading will be taught in class. This is a great accessible instrument playable by everyone, and many students that start on the ukulele will choose to add other instruments to their repertoire after learning the basics.
At the end of the Fall Semester, students may audition with the teacher to advance to the Intermediate Ukulele/Guitar class for the Spring Semester. Otherwise, students will have the option to continue in Beginning Ukulele for the Spring semester.
