HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE PERFORMANCE

Non-Musical Stage Production Class

Why should you take a Theatre class?

Through theater classes, students can gain a sense of creativity, self-respect and become more career-savvy. These additional skills can develop a well-rounded student. Theater for some students can also be their escape from daily stresses and a place for self-expression.

This class is intended for students wishing to improve their acting skills or BEGIN learning to act. No prior experience is necessary.

Theatre brings play, humor, and laughter to learning; this increases motivation and reduces stress. Social interaction and risk-taking in drama develop trust in self, others, and the creative process.

Many students find that theatre helps them develop the confidence that's essential to speaking clearly, lucidly, and thoughtfully. Acting onstage teaches you how to be comfortable speaking in front of large audiences, and some of your theatre classes will give you additional experience talking to groups.

By the third week everyone will participate in a class audition and each student will receive a role based on their preference (lots of lines, just a few lines, etc).

The class will produce a stage performance. The dates of performances will be in April of 2023. Students will experience a "Tech Week" 6:30-9:30 p.m. followed by 3 Nights of live stage productions with all the excitement that goes along with it such as “break-a-leg” roses!

You are guaranteed to have a meaningful experience! If you are interested in theatre, want to make memories, enjoy making friends, this is the one class to take!
