SAXON MATH 3

Math 3 uses simulations and games to help your students understand and practice new concepts.

This course covers:

· skip-counting; identifying ordinal positions; adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers; dividing by single-digit divisors; adding positive and negative numbers; adding and subtracting fractions; plus, measurements, mass, function rules, coordinate graphs, angles, and lines of symmetry.

Saxon teaches students using a spiral-format that consistently reviews older concepts, adding more and more information to concepts they've previously encountered.

REQUIRED: After registering for Math 3, the student is required to take a placement test to assess readiness for Math 3. The results need to be turned in at the front desk for the math teacher to assess. Click here for placement test.

REMEMBER- We are a team! CHE is not “the” school. You are!

Parents will oversee all homework grading according to the guidelines, correcting, and administer any take home tests. *Grading of homework should occur daily. At no time should a student fail to turn in graded homework for 2 weeks in a row. In-class parent meetings will be scheduled as needed to instruct on grading procedures.

As per the CHE covenant, failure to comply with the requirements of the 3RD grade math component could result in the student failing Math 3 and not being allowed to take Saxon Math 4 at the Center. Help us to help you have a fabulous year for your child! We love helping you!
