National Palace

This class will focus on basic language concepts and vocabulary, including numbers, colors, food, seasons, days of the week, along with basic conversational phrases. We will explore cultural topics, and units that go along with holidays and seasons. The goal will be to relate the students’ normal life experience to what is being learned in class.

Basic grammar will be introduced, and students will have some small projects to work on at home that gives them practice with the concepts worked on in class. These projects will be presented during class time along with other assignments. They must be willing to try something new and learn from their mistakes. Testing will be done in a variety of ways, including written, listening comprehension, and verbal methods.

We will occasionally use videos, storybooks, picture dictionaries, and music to give students more exposure to what the language looks like and sounds like. Students will be given a chance to hear, read, write, and speak basic Spanish.
