Let’s explore all things Texas!!

For this class, students will explore our beautiful state of Texas, while they learn cursive writing and create different types of art. We will learn what makes our great state so GREAT! We will study the landmarks and symbols of the Lone Star State, the Texas Revolution, and some of the major events and people in its history. We will study the flag, the state pledge and motto, the major industries, and some geographical features of Texas.

This is not a homework heavy class, but students will be sent home with cursive practice sheets to do during the week. This should not take more that 10-15 minutes daily. Just enough to keep them engaged and in practice.

Students will be doing a small, fun project for the 2nd semester. Each student will choose a famous Texan or Texas Landmark. They will research this at home and will give a small presentation to their classmates toward the end of the year.
